Binance key.
Five minutes on the Binance website or app. You need one read-only key.
BEFORE YOU START01
What you need first.
- Completed identity verification (KYC).
- Two-factor authentication (2FA) turned on.
- Any amount deposited to your Spot wallet: without it Binance won't let you create a key.
STEPS02
How to create the key.
- Open API Management. On the website: profile icon → Account → API Management (direct link). In the Binance app: Binance Pro mode → More Services → Others → API Management.
- Tap Create API and choose System generated.
- Name the key, for example PnL, and confirm with 2FA or a passkey.
- Permissions: keep only Enable Reading on. It's on by default; don't touch the other boxes.
- Don't add an IP restriction; leave it Unrestricted. Your phone's address changes, and an IP-restricted key won't work.
- Copy the API Key and the Secret Key. Binance shows the Secret only once, so copy it right away. Paste both into PnL: Settings → Connections → Binance.
IF IT DOESN'T WORK03
Common causes.
- “Key not accepted” - the key was copied incompletely or with a space. Copy it again.
- “The exchange won't accept this key” - the key was deleted, bound to an IP, or has no read access. Check it in API Management. Binance may delete a key without an IP restriction that hasn't been used for a long time: then create a new one.
- Binance doesn't respond at all - most often a VPN is in the way. Turn it off and refresh.
- “Signature doesn't match” - the Secret is mixed up or cut off.
- Time error - turn on automatic time in your iPhone settings.
