Gate key.
An API v4 key with read-only permissions, created on gate.com.
BEFORE YOU START01
What you need first.
- A verified account.
- A Fund Password and two-factor authentication (2FA).
STEPS02
How to create the key.
- Open API Management on Gate (profile → API Management) and tap Create API Key.
- Key type: API v4 Key. Don't add an IP restriction.
- Permissions, each set to Read Only: Spot, Perpetual Futures and Wallet. If your Gate account uses Unified Account, also turn on Unified, read-only too. Don't turn on Withdraw.
- Tap Submit and confirm with your Fund Password and 2FA code.
- Copy the API Key and the Secret and paste them into PnL: Settings → Connections → Gate.
Without Wallet, PnL can't see your total Gate equity; without Spot, it can't work out your entry price for coins.
EXPIRY03
The key works for 90 days.
Gate disables keys without an IP restriction after 90 days, and they can't be extended: you need a new key. Gate emails you ahead of time, and PnL reminds you two weeks before. Gate also deletes keys if you haven't logged in to the account for more than 90 days.
IF IT DOESN'T WORK04
Common causes.
- “Key not accepted” - a new key was copied incompletely; if the key used to work, it has expired. Create a new one.
- No equity or coins - the key doesn't have Wallet or Spot permission.
- Time error - turn on automatic time in your iPhone settings.
